I will miss this series. I am still mad that the anime never got a Season 2. It was absolutely hilarious and weird. The voice acting alone periodically brings me back to rewatch the series.

I absolutely adore the anime adaptation - should definitely have gotten a second season. Sad to see the manga ending Sad

I can only imagine what kind of ending the author would cook up for this series...

Can anyone tell me how many chapters in total it'll be with 3 chapters left?

I can't figure it out through the Mangaka's twitter or the magazine's website, and Comikey isn't up-to-date, two months without releasing a new english licensed chapter, so I don't know what the latest chapter count is.

If I counted the right posts correctly after Chapter 119, the latest is 129, thus the last would be Chapter 132. Right?...

Here's ANN's Encyclopedia plot summary for Asobi Asobase's anime adaptation:

Quote:
Three classmates play simple hand games. One of the girls is good at games, but hates them as she always lost to her older sister and forced to do chores while growing up. Another girl is of American descent, but raised in Japan, and who only pretends to be bad at Japanese. Another girl usually observes their games, and loses to the other girls.

Wow. Factually accurate, but boy I'm not sure a description ever failed harder at conveying how awesome and hilarious the actual show is. I'm heartbroken there is no second season of the anime AND that the manga has not received an English version.

If I remember correctly, I think that's basically how the show actually marketed itself until the first episode actually aired? At the very least, the key art they advertised with seemed very standard slice-of-life that I ended up doing a triple take when I saw a screenshot of one of the girls' faces later.

The really bad part about the summary is that it made me think I can never trust a plot summary to gauge whether I should sample a show or not in case it's another situation like this one where the description sounds banal beyond belief but the content is actually really great.
