Hope Aoyama corrects Oda and tells him Conan reached 100 volumes of content (chapters) years before OP did. 
(And before anyone replies to me, I'm referring to my comment in the previous article that is linked in "commented".)

Even if they want to, I am sure senior leadership at both publications won't really like it. They are rival publications and should be competing against each other, not cooperating

Also, Toei & TMS are rivals, in terms of anime. It wouldn't be impossible, but there'd be a lot of competitive history to get past.

But you were wrong back then, because you didn't factor in the reason why Conan started to collect 11 chapters per volume instead of 10 chapters per volume - that being that Conan chapters started to get shorter over time, going down from 18 pages per chapter to 16 pages per chapter. Hence why 10 chapters of 16 pages don't fill a standard Conan volume anymore. So, 100 volumes of content were reached only a few months before One PIece, and the volume was released after the one for One Piece.

They're rival publications which happens to be owned by the same company (Shogakukan/Hitotsubashi Group)
