Holy crap... Right Stuf coming in big again. I'm loving all this Macross news. Never did I think we'd ever get 7 officially.

In just two days, essentially all of Macross has been licensed for English release, minus Zero, Do You Remember Love?, & Flash Back 2012. SDF will likely be with FUNimation via the Robotech deal, since Harmony Gold handles the licensing for that.

Big West truly went all out the moment it could in making Macross available outside of Japan.

Man, 7 can be maddening with its repetition and kinda hazy story mechanics......BUT THAT MUSIC SLAPS.

But the industry experts inhabiting forums told me the music rights cost 5 billion dollars and so could never be licensed (source: some random guy at a convention 15 years ago)

Good to know song licensing won't be a problem for Big West. I already own the JP BD sets, but I might get this Ultra Edition depending on the physical extras.

Maybe now years later the artists are willing to take 'anything' rather than 'nothing'

While this is great, I really want to experience Macross Zero more than any of the others. Has anyone picked it up yet?

BOMBA!! I simply cannot believe it. If you had told me 15 years ago that I’d be able to buy English language releases of the likes of Macross 7 I would have called you crazy

Joel: What Rank said, plus they probably didn't like being undercut by Gundam, which is why they went with Nozomi.

The actual best Macross is here.

I'm not at all surprised those rumors about additional music licensing or whatever were bunk. Hopefully this is finally the end of completely fabricated "it's a licensing problem u guys" hearsay.
