I love what 7S puts out but they've gotten into hot water a good number of times recently. I hope the union negotiations are successful!

It's long past time manga companies treat employees like employees and not gig workers. Part-time permanent or freelance with no benefits is tolerable when there is a path to full-time w/benefits, but not when there is none.

I hope they reach out to employees at other manga and anime companies as well. It's time for this industry to stop pretending it's not backed by massive media conglomerates.

Is there anything more otaku-ish than a union with punnily named cat mascots? Anime smile

Good luck to UW7S!

I'm deeply jealous.

Good to know Seven Seas has decided to do what Crunchyroll refuses to. Maybe this'll be a sign of things to come in the future.

The workers at Seven Seas have unionized. The company as a whole hasn't agreed to their terms yet.

Best of luck to UW7S! May they be voluntarily recognized and negotiations go smoothly. (And if that doesn’t work, may they remind management that it can’t accomplish much without them, and they should in fact be compensated appropriately.)

Fantastic news! Honestly, 7S have had a few blunders but things have been corrected. I hope this just continues to increase the production of things for all the workers involved. Congrats!

There is always the price of being the first one. If Seven Seas is the only one, the union will not have much power.
