Ai Yori Aoshi, Chobits, & Onegai Teacher are some good contemporary suggestions.
Urusei Yatsura might be a good one, albeit old. It's essentially where the concept of "harem" anime was first fully realized.
Tenchi Muyo! & Ah! My Goddess are practically required if you're into this sort of anime, as they are widely regarded as being the best "harem" type titles around, bar none.
Hope that helped.
EDIT: 1,000th post! Whoo!

That... kind of depends on what you are looking for. You want harem, romance, comedy, fanservice, all of the above?
Kare kano (H+H circumstances) is a far cry from Love Hina... there is the romantic side though. Sometimes comedic, but not the style of humor you may be looking for. I did enjoy the anime series though, so I'd recommend picking it up anyway.
If you want the harem/fanservice/romance, I'd suggest taking a look at Ai Yori Aoshi. It might be right up your alley and is much more like Love Hina.
If you want a more classic style of harem/comedy/fanservice with a nice sci-fi zing to it, you might want to consider the Tenchi Muyo OVA's.
Nagisa, congrats on your 1000th post. Not sure if I'd add Goddess in there for the harem bit simply because I don't feel there is quite enough sexual tension between multiple characters to go around there, but that's just me. It's certainly a good one to suggest overall though
It's late and I'm too tired to think of any other titles, but I'm sure a few more could be added.

Congrats Nagisa!
I think they have pretty much listed all the relevant titles.

There's a new one coming out from ADV on February 3rd. Its called Happy Lesson. I saw the first episode via Newtype magazine's free preview DVD and I though it was hilarious.
The story is that Chitose was orphaned as a young boy and five of his high school teachers are now living with him as his surrogate mothers.

Well, if your looking for a fairly good laugh, you could try Excel Saga's pretty good. But, like it was mentioned before, Tenchi Muyo and Ah! My Goddess! are pretty required. Plus, they're good animes too.

Tenchi is a very good choice because before you buy it you can see it for free on the international channel. Chobits is another good comedy series, it has it's serious side, but then it'll get back to the sexual jokes that you find in love hina.

One more to add to the list of suggested anime's, if you like the whole romance comedy bit then i'm sure you'd enjoy Fruits Basket. Its minus the harem and fanservice though, but its got a beutiful story and its so full of happy lighthearded moments you'll watch it again and again (lol or at least i did). Funimation priced it really well too so its only about 80 for the whole series on dvd.

I don't care much for the Harem style anime, but I did find Chobits quite enjoyable... there was a thread about it a few months ago
