I had a feeling this version of Digimon Adventure would be dubbed.

I wasn't expecting this during the stream, so having to hear the new voices caught me off guard for Taichi and Agumon. I don't even watch English dub's anymore, but those voices sounded rough compared to the original Eng Taichi and Agumon (I'm not even being bias since I watched that first). I'm a fan of Ben's Young Xehanort, but as Agumon, it didn't hit.

I was kind of eh about the Adventure: reboot but I'll at least give the dub a listen to for Zeno Robinson and Ben Diskin. I'll miss the original dub cast I grew up with but I like the new cast so far.

I have to say this is a pretty boring casting list thus far maybe it will improve with more casting announcements time will certainly tell.

I'm disappointed they did not cast Asian actors for the lead roles. Would have been a great opportunity.

That's great news for English-speaking fans, just last Thursday here in Latin America Last Evolution Kizuna was released in theaters with a Neutral Spanish dub, despite the fact that we never got Digimon Tri, and the cool thing was that they managed to bring back almost all of the original voice actors, the only ones that didn't return were T.K, Davis, Yolei, Angemon, Agumon and Gomamon (although the last two were to be expected since their voices were originally done by child actors back in the day). But the most surprising thing is that Tai and Matt were voiced by their original actors who voiced them when they were both children and then were replaced in 02 due to the characters being teenagers in that series, and Tai's actor's return is more surprising since his actor hasn't worked in the industry for several years (Matt's actor also retired from voice acting but returned last year as Inosuke in Demon Slayer).
I just hope that this show gets dubbed into Neutral Spanish as well, though Tai and Matt will probably get new voices if it gets made.

I was wondering when they'd get around to dubbing the reboot. I'm not surprised they're also going with an entirely new cast either.
I think Zeno can be good as Tai and I have to imagine how surreal it must feel for Ben Diskin, who is a big Digimon fan, to go from playing Shoutmon to getting to actually voice Agumon. I can already imagine how much fun he's having playing all his different forms.

I imagine the reboot will be an uncut dub but I wonder if they’ll continue using the dub names like with the Tri movies or will they use the Japanese names.

The dub names are kind of a staple now and most Digimon fans I’ve met in the US use them out of habit/familiarity. Especially for the Digimon. I’ve always seen Western fans use Gatomon instead of Tailmon.
I imagine it will be like the last Yugioh movie, where they keep the Dub names but keep everything else unedited. It helps that the Dub treats most of the kids’ names as nicknames and not actual names. I think that was a smart way to handle it for its time.
Personally, I don’t think I’ll check it out. I was unimpressed when the anime first aired, and i don’t think even a good dub cast will change my opinion. But I will say congrats to Zeno Robinson and Ben Disken.
I get why Joshua Seth can’t voice for a 60+ episode anime, He has another career and dubbing episodic anime is a commitment. And with the deaths of Joe and Mimi’s voice actors, the original Adventure voice cast can never be truly replicated.
As a fan, I’m accepting this as a genuine reboot of Adventure all the way down to the English voice cast. Good luck to all the VAs involved!

Solution: Watch the sub, where the VAs are all Japanese and it is kept in its original language without being "tarnished" by having an English translation of the original script.
(The following message is sarcastic and does not reflect the actual beliefs of the writer, instead it is merely to point out the [insane] logical conclusion the above argument leads to, whether Guile realizes it or not)

The thing with Tai, is he was so tied with Joshua Seth, it's just weird to have someone else voice him. Same goes with characters like Izzy and Kari. I wonder if it is just these two, or if the whole cast is being replaced.

I think the original Japanese voice track has a few Asians in lead roles.

Joe's original voice actor Michael Lindsay retired 10 years ago, and passed away around almost 3 years ago so naturally that can't be done.

I can understand replacing the human characters since the Japanese version did that too, but I would have liked the Digimon to be the same.
