The steampunk fantasy London of Princess Principal certainly has the dirty and gray parts down. In fact the soundtrack album is entitled "Sound of Foggy London," with the opening track entitled "Shadows and Fog." Here's a shot from the trailer.

Does Brazil count as western? Michiko & Hatchin is set in Brazil

So,Beltane70. "Tak Op. Destiny's" set in America. That's going to be an anime I'm going to wait to get dubbed. I'd like to see it one of these days.
