I know something got blue balled, and it is definitely Shield Hero fans. A whole 2 cour delay. The wait will be hard for some.

Oh, well Fall was looking super stacked so I guess that's one less show I have to worry about keeping up with and something to look forward to in 2022.
(To be honest I was kind of just amused Billy Kametz would be the lead in two Fall anime, but I guess he'll reprise Naofumi next year). |

Good for shield hero, I guess.
It is better to delay a series than to make a production blunder. But, Now I am kind of divided as they even announced Shield hero's Season 3. So, When will S3 come out ??? |

Darn! But this show was so good, real fans should be OK with waiting. Maybe there are a lot of fights and they want to make sure the quality is up to the original (to avoid what happened with Spider)?

If it's for the sake of Quality Control, then I'm okay with it.
But it can also be the COVID-19 State of Emergency that was recently declared for Tokyo. And Kinema Citrus (Shield Hero's animation studio) is based there. So it may also be for the health/safety of the staff. |

That's what I was thinking. And it takes awhile to animate one episode anyway and with the state of emergency, delays are bound to happen everywhere. As long as people stay safe and healthy, I don't mind the delay.

Damn it. I've been really looking forward to this, too. Obviously, they should take all the time they need - I'm not angry with them, just disappointed that I'll have to wait longer.

I would say it is likely scheduling issues. Blaming covid is past being excuse anymore. If train five minute late, JR blame covid. If bathroom not cleaned in office covid is blamed. Everything covid! Last four SOE joke, no one listens, not enforceable. We Japanese took first one semi-seriously, by third no one notices. Now covid excuse for everything from clogged drains to why i stumped big toe on short step in stairway. Nothing stopped because of covid here, just convenient excuse now. We can close bars two hours early, covid, but hold olympics just fine. one LDP member blamed Atami landslide on covid today on news. |

I have a feeling S3 is just gonna be a split cour of s2 since they were announced at the same time |

Delayed by six months?! I've seen plenty of anime that were delayed by three months but I've never heard of one getting delayed by six months. I've already spent over two years waiting for season 2 and now I gotta wait another year? Come on. The only upside is that it won't be a production mess like Spider isekai.

You made it sound like that I was solely blaming the COVID-19 State of Emergency that was recently declared for the delay. I looked further into this, and they said there are "various reasons"; meaning that there are multiple reasons for the delay they didn't specify. Here, this is from Shield Hero Season 2's Twitter account: https://twitter.com/shieldheroanime/status/1412969689739759617 I was just making presumptions on what those reasons could be. When I said "for the sake of quality control", that was me saying that it could be scheduling issues that will affect the quality overall. About the COVID-19 State of Emergency for Tokyo; with the announcement of Shield Hero's delay coinciding with the declaration of the State of Emergency & Kinema Citrus based in Tokyo; there's a possibility that both scheduling issues & COVID-19 could be the reasons for the delay. |

And you wonder why you're on another state of emergency given people like you with that mindset and your amazing vaccine rate. But as you've made clear in numerous threads covid is just a joke right? Moving on. |

Given all the stories about animators in Japan getting overworked and underpaid, I’d say fans can wait. They should take all the time they need.
