There better be good content this year... since some of those panels were legit repeats over 3 cons (funi, aniplex, and AX)...

$5 isn't much, but isn't virtual con attendance low enough already? Do you really want to do anything that would even slightly discourage people from tuning in?

Getting VOD makes it worthwhile, instead of having to plan your weekend around the stream schedule, particularly if you’re in a different time zone. Most of these online cons have had things I wanted to see but either forgot about or had schedule conflicts. Plus, good cause to support.
