If they are to make this a short anime, please be at least 15 min. counting the OP/ED. Funimation, Sentai, or CR would be foolish not to license this.

Extremely excited about this! Though like everyone else I wonder who they will get to voice Misuzu and Sayuri. I imagine it will be so much fun and I hope they will have plenty of merchandise.

I assume it won't have any need for superb animation, but... pls give to kyoani to animate.

Well, by chibi-style it's safe to assume that it will be 3-5 minutes short episodes.
I more wonder if they are gonna change the main seiyuu cast from the KyoAni titles considering nearly all of them are big names now, and even if they not - who's gonna voice Misuzu (and Sayuri, if she appears) since Kawakami-san passed away 10 years ago.

Plausible, but not guaranteed. Wasn’t Attack on Titan Junior High a 15-minute chibi comedy show? And Isekai Quartet clocks in at 12 minutes per episode.
I’m also wondering what the title Kaginado means. “Kagi” is Japanese for “key”, so that might be part of a good pun, but I’m not sure what if anything “nado” means in JP. Is it from the English “tornado”, being used comedically like “Sharknado”?

As a fan of most of these series, I have to ask: Why, aren't they all the same characters anyway?
What I wouldn't mind seeing is Yuuichi Aizawa from Kanon meeting the girls of Clannad. "I'm getting the oddest sense of deja vu, like I've met these girls before.... again..."
We've gone from the time of anime with bad ideas and the time of good ideas, I guess we'll just have to deal with the Age of No Ideas.
Edit: And as I write that, it's right next to "Skeleton knight in another World gets an anime" I don't hate anime but I am getting the feeling it hates me.

The personalities of Rin Natsume, Misuzu Kamio, Ayu Tsukimiya, and Nagisa Furukawa are pretty much nothing alike? I can't comment on Rewrite since I haven't read the VN.

The closest equivalent would be "etcetera". It's also in the article in brackets.

You made me think of that Japanese commercial where all of the blonde Leijiverse ladies are in the same room just being willowy together, so thanks for that laugh.
I would expect it to be a comedy with the characters having silly non-canon interactions in short episodes. Like when Inu-Yasha and Ranma talked to each other about how they sounded familiar (they share the same voice actor) before the Rumic World anniversary OVA. It does seem a bit of an odd choice to have characters mingling with drama series, though. I'd enjoy alternate takes on random scenes with cast changes if they go that route, like the Fushigi Akugi bits of the Fushigi Yuugi manga.

Rewrite characters are also very distinctive. I can't say one is like another at all.

Still not sure what to think of this. I love me a good Key cry, but we’re a good 15 years removed from the heyday of the visual novel, and Rewrite in particular sank like a rock (JP DVD sales were a tenth of Clannad’s, the series got dropped from daily streaming reviews here on ANN, and come to think of it, did it even get a physical release in the USA?)

The Rewrite anime was a steaming pile (well, the first season at least - the following seasons were fairly good adaptations that no one cared about or watched because the first was so bad), but the visual novel is still hugely popular and a big seller as visual novels go... so it'd be silly to leave it out in a Key crossover. Especially if it can entice more anime-only viewers to give the visual novel a try.
