The anime's story begins when the protagonist, a 14-year-old girl named Ai Ohto, hears a mysterious voice while walking around town late at night. It gives her an egg, and beckons to her: "If you wish to change the future, you need only choose now. Now, believe in yourself, and smash the egg." |
I don't even know where to begin with this one; There's symbolism and then there's calling an omelet an abortion. I'm intrigued but at the same time... I know Japan and this one has me going "uhhhhh...." even before the first episode.

Horimiya's not surprising considering Aniplex.

Same applies to all the shows here in this article.

Horimiya was the only one of the bunch confirmed by the twitter account of Funimation for México, seems we're gonna miss a lot this season.

It's a funny romcom with actually good character development.

I'm wondering how soon before we see shared streaming between the two. I admit I am kind of getting tired of all the Aniplex shows aside from SAO, Bokuben, and Misfit streaming just on Funimation.

I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to this quote from Hermann Hesse: https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/8238079-if-the-chick-is-not-able-to-break-the-shell
Or, more likely, a reference to Revolutionary Girl Utena who referenced that quote. I have to say that description intrigued me, but then I’m a huge Utena fan.

So CrunchyFlop loses to Funi, again. What a failure.

^Yeah, I don’t think a company being acquired for over $1 billion by the parent company of a competitor can reasonably be qualified as a failure. While it will take some time to complete the transaction, thinking of Funimation and CR in terms of who’s “winning” or “losing” seems to me almost as moot as during the previous Crunchyroll-Funimation deal.
It remains to be seen how the acquisition will affect those outside of the regions Funimation and Sony’s other subsidiaries already service, but I always thought holding CR’s (former) competitors more limited regional and language availability against CR was misguided.
