If this series gets an English dub, would it make sense for Kari Wahlgren to play the titular role?

I really enjoyed the first season of this when it was called Uzaki-chan Just Wants to Hang Out.

Nagatoro predates Uzaki. She's the OG abusive kohai. She's also far more sexualized, has a younger looking body, and is more abusive towards her senpai, so I suspect she'll draw a lot more controversy in the west than Uzaki ever did. I see they already changed the western title from "Don't Bully Me" to "Don't Toy Wth Me" |

I mean, the Japanese title does technically mean to toy/play/mess with. "Bully" is more of a liberty with the translation. |

Ah, interesting! Did not know that Nagatoro came first. Anyway, I liked Uzaki-chan so I suspect I'll like this, too. |

Considering that "bully", "play", "mess", and "toy" can all be synonymous in the sense of "taunting", perhaps "bully" is an apt word to use here. |

Wow, so Uzaki-chan copies Miss Nagatoro right down to the flesh fang! At least the Uzaki-chan creator had the grace to move the flesh fang to the other side of her mouth so as to avoid being too much of a rip-off.

It's not so much that Uzaki-chan is a copy of Ijiranaide Nagatoro-san, but rather that both series are based on a trend of romantic comedy manga with slightly abusive/playful/teasing female main characters and weaker male characters. I also disagree with AmpersandsUnited calling Nagatoro far more sexualized than Uzaki-chan, because there are nowhere as many boob and other body related jokes in the former manga than in the later with its "sugoi dekai" angle. |

Kind of depends what you define as sexual. Nagatoro doesn't have boobs like Uzaki, but she actively tries to intimidate and flirt with her senpai and purposely make him uncomfortable by using her body. Uzaki's shtick is being more unaware with accidental gags. |

I agree that it depends on how you define sexual. It's because Nagatoro is more aware of her sexuality and the effects she has on her senpai with her flirtual nature that I consider her, from a narrative POV, less sexualized than Uzaki, because she's more in control of her own sexuality, whereas in the case of Uzaki-chan, it's more like we readers are oogling her for her curvy body assets, but I digress. |
