I am a huge fan of shoujo anime. My favorites are Natsume Yuujinchou, Cardcaptor Sakura, Kakuriyo, Fruits Basket, Tanaka-kun, My Next Life as a Villainess and probably more I can’t think of right now.
Where are my fellow shoujo fans? I wanna meet people who share my enthusiasm. |

I'm a guy that likes to mix it up, so I watch some shoujo. Heck maybe a third to a half of what I watch. I'm currently watching Fruits Basket reboot, My Next Life as a Villainess,
and 3rd season Chihayafuru. I guess those are considered shoujo. I like thoughtful stories with interesting characters and plot ideas, regardless of genre. But the most shoujo-ish series I ever watched was La Corda d'Oro. Yeah that was a little too much for me, haha. But I was interested in it because I'm a musician. |

Nice article, thanks for the link. People SUPPORTING each other through some kind of conflict gives you a hopeful feeling about humanity.
My Love Story!! referenced in that article was another one I watched, I thought it was hilarious. I'll never get "YAMATO!" out of my consciousness, haha. |

I’ve been a big fan of shojo since growing up with Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura. I especially enjoy a lot of magical girl shojo like Magic Knight Rayearth, Pretear, Princess Tutu, Pretty Cure, and Wedding Peach. I also love other old school shojo like Fushigi Yugi and I’m not sure if Escaflowne entirely counts but I will count it anyway and some darker shojo like X/1999. And of course I also love Fruits Basket, Ouran, Utena, and My Love Story is one of my favorite romance anime. I still need to watch more in the way of shojo romantic drama especially older stuff like Hana Yori Dango and Marmlade Boy are on my list of titles to eventually watch. I think what draws me the most to shojo is how it seems like most other anime genres tend to be lead by male protagonists a lot and shojo is one of those genres where you have female leads. I also love the wide variety of shojo where you can have stories more grounded in the real world but also shows that mix in romance with fantastical elements whereas other genres I often feel like it’s one or the other like if you have a heavy fantasy or sci-fi based story or something with a lot of action the romance takes a backseat to the action. I always try to support new shojo anime when they come out because I often feel like we don’t get them enough nowadays.

Takato, I agree with you so much. We need more shoujo and it needs more exposure, and women who create the stories especially need support.
I love CCS and Fruba too! |

I tend to like shoujo anime and manga more than, for instance, shounen, but I'm not sure I'd say I was a "fan" of the demographic. Personally, I don't care what it is, as long as I can get invested in it, and that just so happens to frequently be shoujo stuff. :P

Anyone else absolutely in love with the new Pretty Cure? I just find it so good and cute and personally purifying to watch.
