So Furuba is the only spring anime to have another cour in the summer while all spring animes have only one cour. Sad.

Wow, this show's production really is far ahead of airing. No wonder the pandemic didn't force it to take a break. That must also be the case with Ahiru no Sora, which is set to end its 50-episode run in September with only a few short, planned interruptions.

If what they said about this being 60+ episodes, we're looking at at least to me, three seasons. Yet if it's 25 per season, that's more than they said it would be. I'm not complaining. Lol

The first 25 episodes season adapted like the first 6 volumes of the manga. Since the manga is 23 volumes long, logic suggests that the anime could end up being 100 episodes long.

So that means 63 episodes isn't enough for Furuba but I worry that TMS may rushed Furuba with skipped/removed some chapters, scenes, lines and inner monologues from the manga, like Sing ''Yesterday'' for Me by Doga Kobo(100-and-more chapters, only 12 episodes instead 18, skipped some chapters/scenes in anime and the finale is very rushed).
The remake anime version is skipped or removed some scenes, lines, inner monologues. And I think it's not a good sign for Furuba remake.

I'm over the moon excited for more seasons. This has become the definitive version of the story for me; even with the minor missteps, and I realize changing the order of events is controversial, but I adore how this anime had gone so far. So much of what resonated with me as a teenager does so again now.
If it ends up being 60-65 episodes in the same vein as FMA, I would be more than happy with that.

The first season actually covered almost 8 volumes' worth of material, although it played around a lot with the chapter ordering, so much that the second season had to spend a bunch of episodes adapting chapters that had been skipped by the previous one.
Right now, the second season is covering material from volume 12, so it should end somewhere in the middle of volume 16 if it keeps that pace. That means another 25-episode season should be enough to get to the end of the manga.

Tokyo Ghoul went through the same treatment. A lot more story to have been told, yet 12 episodes per cour. It was dumb.

Even if it doesn't adapt absolutely everything from the manga, I still think this anime is a very solid adaptation so far. An adaptation doesn't always have to be completely 1:1 with the source material to be good. The point of this anime is to be more faithful to the manga's overall plot and tone (in comparison to the 2001 anime, which had more focus on comedy to the point that I feel like it was trying to go for a Ranma 1/2 vibe some of the time), and I think the 2019 is doing a good job of that.

Exactly. That's why it's called an "adaptation".
It is unnecessary to include the inner monologues and until now they didn't skip any important stuff.
Also, the new anime adapted 71 chapters in 39 episodes.
36 episodes and 65 chapters are left so I'd say the number of episodes for a complete adaptation is perfect.

This. Furuba 2019 has revived my faith in anime remakes after Sailor Moon Crystal killed it dead. xD
This new anime is basically perfect. My only complaint is 'Tooru's face should be cuter'...but she does look very much like Tooru from the latter half of the manga so....eh.

I’m just hoping that Funimation is able to resume its English dubbing. Although I don’t have a problem watching the subs, I’ve grown spoiled with the English cast. I love hearing their interpretations of the characters. I’ll hold out a while longer before I give up and watch the subs, but I’ll still watch the dubs when they come back.
