Looks like a fantasy fighting anime.

I thought that this read; 'black arrow' and got all excited.

This is still a great line up for production though, so of course I'm keeping an eye on this. Smile

I don't think I've seen anything from Nakashima that wasn't a collaboration with Hiroyuki Imaishi, except for the latter episodes of Re: Cutie Honey.

This should be interesting.

He's working with Yoh Yoshinari on Trigger's upcoming BNA: Brand New Animal show, but the only other thing I can think of is Oh! Edo Rocket. And Kamen Rider Fourze if you count that.

Oh! Edo Rocket actually began life as a stage play in 2001. At the time Nakashima was writing plays for the Gekidan Shinkansen theater troupe. A live-action TV version was made in the same year. Mizushima Seiji directed the 2007 anime adaptation by Madhouse from a script by Aikawa Shou.

I've often wondered what the stage and TV versions looked like, especially the spoiler[Karakuri robot]. Anime gave the "action theater playwright" Nakashima the space to go well beyond the physical limitations of a theatrical stage in the exercise of his imagination.

I wondered if this event signalled the ending of Nakashima's collaboration with Imaishi, but I suspect it doesn't.

Yeah, Nakashima's pretty much the sole reason I've even considered watching Oh! Edo Rocket.
