So this is the beginning of a new trend, while Aniplex will continue to make the shows available in as many platforms as possible, Funimation now has the exclusivity for a limited time, in the simulcast era any time of delay or at a later date may prove to be influential to viewers’ overall decision on which platform to watch.

What I still want to know is what will happen to the dub after the one year period is up. Will the dub be able to be streamed on other sites like Crunchyroll and Netflix after that first year? Will Funimation still be able to stream the dub after the first year is up but it will just also be available for other sites as well? Also what about Toonami broadcasts as Toonami has been airing a lot of Aniplex shows these days?

Still not enough to get me to pay for funimation’s crappy service. Maybe if they did a complete overhaul of their website and console apps I would vaguely entertain the notion. I can wait a month for crunchyroll.

I mean you dont even have to pay. There is a free funimation streaming option just like Crunchyroll with advertising.

Yes, but that still gives them ad revenue, no? Also their service would still be crappy except I would also be sitting through ads. So that’s a double no for me.

Then wait month...no one said you had to watch it immediately. Calm down, junior

I’m calm? I even said in my initial post that I could wait a month. Thanks for being patronizing though.

I mean you also patronized funimation for an app that's really not that bad anymore. Works great on my xbox and PS4. And has for a long time now.

But their free option sucks compared to CR. You have to watch every ad break prior to resuming your video. In CR's option, you just have to watch the nearest ad break.

Bolded for emphasis because I’m wondering if that means it’s still kinda sorta bad or if it works perfectly every time. If it works as it should, then I’m glad that it works for you! I honestly am. But I have not been able to use the app or website without any issues going on ten plus years now. I’ve used their services, both paid and free, and it’s never made a difference. I have an excellent internet connection, a good tv and a PS4 and still have issues every single time I want to stream something. That’s not being patronizing, that’s just stating facts.

I must be lucky because other than a few odd issues here and there, I haven’t had much issues with Funimation’s streaming service but I’ve only ever used the website and the mobile app as I don’t have a Roku or PS4.

The Funimation website is more stable than the Crunchyroll website but it does feel outdated since there is a 5 to 8 second delay going to other pages even when using Chrome. That was okay when the Funimation website was only for shopping but it is slow for a video streaming website. Still when it comes to dubs of recent anime shows they have the largest number of shows.
