At least the number has decreased significantly. Best of luck to those seven still in the hospital.

Wow that's less than I thought. Nice to see the majority of those hospitalized are out. Although I imagine most (if not all) who had already been discharged aren't doing much better and are still having a very rough time. Hopefully all survivors can go on to live normal lives again soon.

I doubt any of the victims will be able to live "normal" lives for years to come. Most will likely suffer lingering symptoms of PTSD from such a harrowing experience.

I think the decision to put the funds in the hands of the Kyoto Prefectural government was a good one. Much better to have a neutral third-party involved in distributing the funds than KyoAni trying to decide who gets what shares and why.

Four billion yen worth of damages... Yikes... Between costs and human loss it's no wonder they expect it will take 5-10 years to fully revcover. Sad

It is situations like this where I think delaying anime releases is necessary. The health/safety of the animation studio staff and employees/contracted workers should come first.
