I believe ANN is incorrect. The 40 episodes are for "Hawk's Trouble Consultation Room", a series of anime shorts released on Twitter, not the Wrath of the Gods season itself. Here's an example:

Yasssss 40 episode!! But I don't think it will reach the end of the manga (well, the manga hasn't ended yet but I thought at first they'll try to bring the end together), so I hope at least they'll reach the part when spoiler[Escanor faced off against Zeldris, I LEGIT WANNA SEE HIS "SEISOU ESCANOR" MOVE SO BADD THAT WAS EPIC YA KNOOOO!!]

Anyway, dammit Uverworld, that was a great song!! I get so hype listening to it and makes me want October to come soon Sad
