Honestly, Japan. So much drama over nothing.

Everything about these idol groups seems infinitely creepy to me.

That's kinda suspicious.

You have a group that's pretty much in the rebooting phase due to unusual circumstances and there's been a lot of sweeping things under the rug (especially the whole idols giving fans Maho's address mess, remember we still don't know who those two idols were). While I hope Minami is not one of those 2 people who gave the fans Maho's address, somethings telling me there's a small chance that she may be one of the two and her demotion it's a light form of karma, because the message itself seems like a mean girl type of tweet.

A member of the group Maho was the one that got attack in her apartment which was kinda a big deal you know, so making that sort of comment in her tweet was rather ill-advised.

This, even management noticed the meaning of her message and dealt with it.

Sad... The NGT48 drama has had me bummed ever since it began, but I'm particularly sad to see something directly happen regarding Kato Minami.

I enjoyed seeing her play Rena in the Higurashi When They Cry TV drama, so I had a nice impression of her and the other NGT48 members who starred in the series, so I'm sad to see things go down like this for their group.

I don't know what Kato Minami's feelings are about the situation, but I don't intend to try and read into her instagram message or anything like that. It's not really my place to, and I just don't really care.
Still, the idol industry is really wack, and I'm sad seeing all this drama surround one of the only idol groups I've ever had any potential interest in, even if only because of a TV drama they starred in. :/

Feels like NGT48 is just a sinking boat.

They've to be careful in anything they do.
If her post was made private, it might not caused any commotion.

I don't think the Japanese know what sarcasm is, or if they did, they don't view it as funny.

While I found it funny, its only because I grew up where sarcasm is funny. Japanese humor isn't like that in the slightest, and anything sarcastic can easily be thought of as mean spirited.

Except it wasn't "over nothing." The Maho Yamaguchi assault thing was huge news in Japan to the point Niigata officially cut ties with them.

Maho Yamaguchi stated that the reason why she was attacked was because some of the group members leaked her address to her attackers. There have been numerous reports that it was because Team N3 and Team G haven't been getting along due to Maho Yamaguchi snitching on Team N3 members for having boyfriends. But even if Kato wasn't involved in the attack, the message is in extremely poor taste as it pretty much implies that Yamaguchi graduating after being blamed for causing a media storm was less important than her nail day.
