Does erotic manga even have sex scenes? I always thought that the main skill in writing this manga is how long you can save characters as technical virgins and at the same time make plot increasingly risky pornographic.

I miss took Magnum X for Megaman X, My thoughts went to X lecturing a class of kids about sex "... So remember kids, if she says yes, you'll both be in bless. If she says no, it's 'cause she's not a hoe."

Consensual over non- though I have no beef with the later though The American erotica market is even more strict. All sex must be consensual even the bad kind. Though how one consents to the R word is puzzling, because isn't the classic definition of the R word sex without consent?
I'm more super hero than maid. Maid is a little boring to me be it eromanga or not.

I don't know what's more surprising: that "Magnum X" is the most consensual while "ANGEL club" is the least, or that there's an erotic magazine called "Penguin Club." Kind of hard to determine consent among fictional characters, anyway; it can be a tricky issue even in real life.
The stereotype about Japanese people having wild fetishes is mostly just juxtaposition, though. They seem very polite and conservative in person, but through anime/manga we get exposed to all their secret sexual fantasies. Anything seems more extreme when it comes from someone you'd never expect, especially if it's taboo.

I wonder how these ratios of fiction compare with real life statistics. Does art imitate life? Or vice versa? Or not at all?

Something that annoys me in erotic manga is that, in most of the consensual sex ones, you never see a dude actually seducing a girl (And when you see one initiating, she either was interested in him so she doesn't mind he forced her). I know it panders to fantasies, but you don't quite see positive examples of a dude wooing a girl. Heck, in most of them, it's like the girl always has to initate out of frustration because she likes the dude, he likes her but doesn't do anything because he's indecisive, is afraid, whatever. Again, it panders to fantasies, but I will still rally for more positive examples of men in porn!

I agree with you Number 6. Its rare to find the guy actively seducing the girl, its usually she is into him from the beginning, it kind of kills the sexual tension. Same goes in male targeted works too. It is why I like tsundere their fire provides tension for the pairing. Derederes in my opinion are the hardest to write because there isn't any real tension unless the guy is being a straight up jerk to her.

You look at doujinshi for positive male influences? That's..um...different. I'm not sure that that's realistic as most of them are about 20 pages long.
Was this researcher paid for this or was this just a hobby project he took on the side? Because I am seriously in the wrong line of work if it's the former

Truly doing God's work
Should be noted that the magazines sampled are all professionally published works. I'm sure the ratio in fan made doujinshi would be much different.

Cutie Bunny I think 6 means that there isn't really sexual tension. going on in those stories, the girl usually just gives it to him. He hardly tries to seduce or make her feel good, outside of a grope there isn't much foreplay ether just straight to the honeypot he goes. If they dedicate a little time to establishing a connection between the two characters during the consensual stuff it would be a lot better. It is fine to do that in non consensual because the love is selfish and one sided, but there has to be some foundation for the consensual stuff.

The more graphic doujinshi are purchased for a particular reason. They're not being bought because the reader wants to browse through 20 pages of a flirty fanfic for 1-2 pages of the censored deed. Those that buy the more graphic titles want to see particular acts performed in the 20-or-so pages in that book.
There are more vanilla titles out there, and if that's what floats you, those are the ones that you should buy.
I would also think that your suggestion of a 40 page doujinshi with the first 20 pages dedicated to storyline would be far more expensive to buy simply because there's a higher page count.

I did not say I was against the heavy stuff, I said that if its suppose to be consensual at least there be some build up. Male targeted erotica seems to suffer from a lack of build up.
