my guess this set of 12 will cover all of Novel 2 which did start with the aftermath of that operation but went into the military coup of the FPA and the Noble Rebellion of the Empire

They hadn't even finished the first novel, let alone start the second. I hope we at least get somewhat into the civil war(s). I was just thinking today about this, because Funimation put up their trailer for their release of the series thus far, which I pre-ordered about a week ago. The dub is decent, but nothing remarkable.
I'm actually fairly hyped for this and hope it gets stateside soon.

Neue Galactic Heroes is going to take nearly 10 years just like the original OVA to tell the exact same story, isn't it?

Will Funimation release these as movies in the US or will they be split up into TV sized episodes later on a la Space Battleship Yamato reboot?

Despite being underwhelmed with how much material was covered despite the condensing of it all, I am still so very hyped for this. It reminds me I need to finish reading the light novels at some point.

Only if it's successful enough to keep going for that many years. Personally, I loved the first season, but its middling BD/DVD sales pretty much killed my hope of seeing Die Neue These eventually cover all 10 main novels.

I loved the first remake of the Legend of Galactic Heroes I was pretty sad to see it was only twelve episodes, I thought. "How are they gonna cover the entire series in such a short time, if at all?" (It's safe to say I was a little dumb at the time, but I digress.) I'm happy to see it's getting another season, I hope Hiroyuki Sawano does the second opening too~

Nice. I wish it as a more normal airing but whatever. I'm just happy were getting more. Hopefully it shows up streaming on the same outlets as S1.
