Is this what's holding up an english disc release? I'd like to own this alongside my FLCL set, but not hearing anything for a while is worrisome.

Why would anyone make a fansub if there was already a dub?

I thought Progressive and Alternative were fine. Both certainly have their issues - Progressive (which I like more) I feel like is a bit too derivative, for having the greatest story focus of the lot it doesn't really seem all that interested in properly conveying its narrative, and most of the supporting cast is meh, while Alternative is arguably too different, Pets was my favorite character for most of it and they completely ruin her eventually, and the end of the series is just plain the show shrugging and giving up - but I don't really think either's a stain on the original or anything, even if they were nowhere near as good as it.
