Hey, congratulations to ANN for jumping from #2 to #1. With all due respect to Chris Beveridge and AoD, you guys deserve it.
I was honestly surprised that we (Anime Academy) jumped from #11 last year to #3 this year (I was expecting to barely crack the Top 10). So this is what it looks like from up top. ;) P.S. yes, I'm very much aware of the inaccuracies and pitfalls of online polls. Still, it's nice to be recognized for all of our hours that we put in. _____________________________________________ Kain, Dean of Academics www.animeacademy.com |

I didn't realize you were a poster on our forums Kain. Congrats on your big jump this year. You and your crew do a great job.
Here's links to the previous two polls. 2003. http://www.animefringe.com/magazine/2003/01/feature/02/ 2001 http://www.animefringe.com/magazine/01.01/feature/2/index.php3 |

There are two things I will say about this:
1) Congratulations. and 2) Be nice the the people you meet on the way up, because you'll be meeting those same people on the way down. |

I have 2 things to say also-
1-congrats ANN 2-why bother having the whole list if we have the top 5 web sites? |

A part from the usual congrats to our respected dean K, I wouldn't go calling this kind of sorting and polling anything more than a simple pissing contest. Even if some site is ranked higher up on the list, it doesn't mean that one single site could ever be the only reliable source of information. Most probably visit a lot of those sites on the list on a regular basis, so the whole idea of a poll seems a bit redundant.
(Not to mention that Kain prolly had his whole staff clicking on the voting buttons for a good month in a row, like rabid chipmunks.) |

It's really just a popularity contest and nothing more so don't read to much into it. It's just a fun way of seeing just what sites people enjoy the most, not an indication of quality per se.
Anyway, congrats to ANN for making the top. I have to admit that I'm surprised that AniPike didn't even make the top 5 this year, even after their new layout. Emerje |

Wow, never even heard of Anime Academy before. What a great site. My only complaint is that the reviews are a bit short. I'd really like to read an indepth review that spans a thousand words or more.
