Welp, I don't need to click the article to know this is getting a Perishable rating, so straight to the comments section I go!
That said, if there's any one thing from My Girlfriend is Shobitch that's stuck with me since I watched it last year, it's something surprisingly related to (one of) my college major(s). I'm currently working towards a dual master's degree in civil engineering and city & regional planning, and as far as I can tell, anime with a solid focus in either respect is extremely lacking. So it caught me by surprise when I took notice of the protags' school roof. It's not surprising to see students use the roofs at their schools in anime as a hangout spot, but they're always so barebones and uninviting. But Shobitch's school roof is different. It's designed in such a way that actually encourages the students at the school below to use that space. The notable presence of greenery and vegetation and boardwalk flooring are already plenty indication of that, but the episode where the students use one of the trees on the roof for Tanabata outright cemented my theory: whoever designed that school wanted it to be a stand-out compared to all the others, if not a symbol of what future schools could be, and their decision to have rooftop access not just allowed but encouraged through their design made that goal of theirs a success. Not bad for a series that's mostly just rapid-fire sex jokes!

Don't they teach sex education in Japanese schools at all? Shobitch is obviously a laser thin focus on and for the age demography similar to the protagonists in it. I'm not sure if it is legal to sell such books, [presumming there's a manga the anime was based on], to tweens and early teens in Japan, nor am I sure the same can be said for the anime as well. So on those premisses only "mature?" adults who are still virgins would perhaps be interested to buy this and get some "enjoyment ?" from it. But why? When there is mountains and mountains of raw hardcore hentai porn, smut, filth, etc, etc, readily available to them? And they wonder why the birth rate keeps spiralling downward year on year.

this review didn't surprised me at all!!!!
while it have faults, its not enough to warrant a perishable!
and its definitely popular in japan so its more or less a mood point on how the reviewer feels considering it might not be the last we hear of this series!!!

I like My Girlfriend is a Shobitch and it reminds me more of advanced Seitokai Yakuindomo in that there's more of a direct target for all the innuendo rather than vague musings and possibilities... from the review's list of additional recommendations, I can give Yamada's First Time my approval as long as you get to the punchline that only shows up in the manga, Tsuredure Children is passable and amusing but ultimately too meandering but Galko-chan is shorts and I'm not a fan of shorts; If you can't string four of those together to come up with a real episode then don't bother.
Can you imagine Yamada's First Time as a series of shorts? It's based on the same style of four panel comic but... somehow.. you CAN reach a punchline and continue the comedy.
"Seemingly already forgotten comedy" as it says in the box to my right... That's anime these days, if it's not happening now then it doesn't matter for 90% of the fans. I mean, this is the first I've heard of Galko since... ever? The first episode I think.
"Particularly stiff" Teen tested and Akiho approved... wait, that wasn't meant as a joke?

Seeing the mention of Galko in the Shobitch review makes me feel kinda disappointed Galko never had a North American Blu-ray release... seems like it would be more deserving.
Love the look of the shelf with the bookends and the Evangelion picture.

Hi, Errinundra!
As an American, I so enjoy seeing foreign anime collections. Over the years, you find titles issued long ago in Europe or elsewhere that have never appeared in the U.S.
What strikes me most about your domestic collection is not the labels but the government-issued ratings at the bottom of the spines--something we don't have in the U.S. I'm only familiar with the notion because of the number of UK anime and live-action films in my collection.
Love the Mirielle figure! But I have to ask--is the figure to the right Nadie from El Cazador de la Bruja?

The ratings really do spoil the appearance. And, yeah, it's Nadie.

I saw the bookends in an Oxfam online catalogue and thought they'd be perfect for my anime collection. From the perspective of the room the Evangelion pic makes the shelf look like its receding to infinity, as if you're looking through a portal into another world.

1) I like watching anime girls being completely ridiculous.
2) There's not a lot of kuudere romance in anime. I'll take even a zero-quality kuudere romance over a decent tsundere romance.
Watching Date A Live III recently, I noticed Origami acting just like Akiho. But I don't picture Origami ever winning that contest, let alone getting a whole season like this.

You have Subaru too. Are you a Black Rose fan as well? I'm sooo jealous of your EVE tin and cup, one of the best Kickstarters I have ever backed, and I wish i had splurged for that tier. Your Monster set is amazing too! I have imported several series from Siren (Irabu is my favorite!), but sadly waited too long before the pre-order cut-off for Monster and my subsequent move somehow took me out of their deliverable addresses! I still haven't picked it up...its on the list .
Very cool shelves!

Thanks!
Subaru's intelligence, sincerity and calm demeanour have always appealed to me. That sort of personality isn't common in anime. I have to admit I also liked her on-line outfit. The only part of the .hack franchise I've seen with Black Rose is .hack//Unison, though I admired the emotional honesty of her lookalike, Mimiru.

Ok so after reading this article I'm left sitting here like.. what?
My Girlfriend is a Shobitch is an "ok" title.. not ground breaking and not even particularly that good, but not terrible either. However after reading this article you'd think you just got exposed to popo-tan or worse level anime.
If you can't handle dirty jokes, or any sexual innuendo in humor then avoid this title, not knocking the reviewer but I get the impression he/she cannot handle either.
I'd rate this as a rental, it does have it's moments.

That doesn't seem to be very probable based on the review, as there is a whole paragraph about works that the reviewer thinks are superior in some sense, and the list includes Shimoneta.
