So I’m guessing that Megumin is the focus of the movie?

I don't know why they refuse to say what the story is about but volume 5 was a Megumin focused book (they went to her village) and since it's the next one that hasn't been adapted the movie might just cover volume 5.

At this point Im 50% certain theyll cover the events of vol 5 but unless they make the movie last for more than 1 hour its gonna be rushed to hell. The other 50% of me thinks itll just be something else concerning Megumin and her clan.

Well odds are it seems to be going to adapt the next arc involving Megumi and her village, which makes sense from a buisness perspective if you think about it. Why waste a story on a tv season when you can do it as film adaption reap the profits from the cinema screen and than the bd releases and than get more revuneue from the film merchandise from the most popular characther in the story.
What i find interesting is why the series has not been licensed by any western publisher for bd/dvd releases, either the licensing for it is high or the competitors are trying to still outbid each other for it.

Crunchyroll has a blanket license on KonoSuba, meaning they're responsible for releasing it on Blu-Ray. Odds are with them mending their friendship with Sentai Filmworks, you can expect them to announce one sweet limited edition of the show in the near-future.

I'm not particularly keen on that visual... but the title leads me to believe they are adapting Volume 5, which is basically a story that takes place in the Crimson Magic Clan village.
In fact, even the visual hints at that because it could be depicting the trek they made from Axel to the village. Also the fact that Yunyun is there also supports that idea.

I'm still hoping that this movie is an original story but it's starting to look like it could be Volume 5 or the Explosion Spinoffs.
