Guess now we're never seeing reprints of the Tezuka stuff they got.

This puts the future of Yaoicon further in doubt. For a year, Digital Manga has been promising a 2019 return after a 2018 hiatus, but it's hard to see that happening unless someone else picks up the reins.

Considering that they have not been releasing Love-To-Lie Angle and The Secret Devil-Chan physically, which are pretty much OOP while they're new, they have it coming. :/

I guess that explains why No Panties No Problem volume one was listed as 'out of print' the day it was supposed to be released (I had preordered it).
A shame, I was also wanting to buy the Kodomo no Jikan volumes.

The Kodomo no Jikan Kickstarter has been an unfortunate mess. The people who backed it may never get their volumes, and me, the person who was going to wait for a "standard release", will never get them. Sad

I gotta be honest I had to look on my shelves to see what physical print volumes I had from them and all i could find is Enchanter, which is a series they published quite a while back.

I'm glad Kimagure Orange Road is getting shipped to it's backers but a part of me is quite disappointed that KOR had to go to something like a Kickstarter to begin with. That's a series that deserves a lot better than what it received and that's not the nostalgia talking.

I have to say considering the back lash Seven Seas received when they tried to publish Kokomo no Jikan I'm a bit surprised DMP went through with trying at all. I do have to remind myself that attempt was over 10 years ago now and it's not like there's a lack of adult manga content in the US or anything...

Yikes. Kickstarters go unfulfilled all of the time, so it is interesting to finally see a company penalized (in relationship to or responsibility of.) Sorry to all their backers. Sad

Except this doesn't have anything to do with the Kickstarter. They are suspended because they have essentially not been paying their taxes.

Thanks for the clarification. If you are joining the comment chain, you will notice several other posters have given examples of DMP Kickstarters from the last several years, many that have run defunct (cheifly KOR, Kodomo, and Tezuka properties.) These popular Kickstarters have achieved revenues into the thousands of dollars, money that has not been accounted for in terms of reward fullfilment or standard releases. It may not be the only reason they are in financial trouble, but it has been a popular platform to fund some of their most recent releases, and lack of fulfilment has been just one of many red flags for their business practices. They have been penalized for not paying their taxes in the state of California, and more information may be revealed yet, but Kickstarter accountability issues have been a problem for years and if penalty might lead to accountability, a possible precedent in this case.

Edit: Computer issues. I'll concede my wording might be bad in my initial comment, but I leave it as is for comparison.

I'm really hoping this doesn't effect the shipping of my KOR volumes- I get the strong impression my tier, the one with just the six volumes, is low on their shipping tier list...

As a backer of the KODOMO NO JIKAN collection and someone desperately looking towards it, I'm can't say I'm really surprised.

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Every time I inquire about one of the yaoi series June has licensed, I get a load of excuses.
