So we're getting three new spin-offs: an official sequel, "City Hero", and now this.

This admittedly sounds rather cute. Although, based on the cover image, I'm just slightly sad that it may not be something involving the other Exceeds (the ones from Edolas or the others that were already on Earth). But who knows! Like with the other spin-off, I'll hold off judgement until I see more.

Mashima also revealed on Wednesday that there are plans to announce details of his tentatively titled Fairy Tail Zokuhen (Fairy Tail Sequel) spinoff manga soon. Mashima said in April that a Fairy Tail sequel manga is in the works in the form of a spinoff manga. He also stated that he is working on another Fairy Tail spinoff manga. He then stated in May that he is working on a "secret" project.

I understand articles like these are copy-and-pasted, but maybe someone might want to reword this? From what I can tell, Fairy Tail City Hero is the "Fairy Tail Zokuhen" written here, Happy's Grand Adventure is the "another Fairy Tail spinoff manga" and that Eden's Zero is the "'secret' project." The link directs to a news post about the "secret project" who is clearly the female lead from EZ. It also mentions the two FT spin-offs without names yet.

Actually, here's the original article that mentions all three projects with no tites.

EDIT: Actually it would seem the official "Fairy Tail sequel" is a completely different manga drawn by Atsuo Ueda. So, wow, three FT spinoffs. Still, the blurb could be cleaned up slightly.

Also announced today was another new manga called "Fairy Tail: Too Many Spinoffs!"

It's the story of a hot-blooded young boy who makes a vow to read all 7,000 Fairy Tail spinoff mangas. But he dies of old age before he can finish. The end.

(Sidebar: the first chapter of Eden's Zero was amazing. I wasn't a big fan of Fairy Tail but this new series had some great twists and excellent artwork. Also the protagonist is already ten times more interesting than Natsu.)

Yeah, quite the ambitious plan. But likely these will be short term manga like FT: Zero. Be interesting where it leads.

I respectfully disagree, to me it reads like a Fairy Tail reskin. There is just too much Fairy Tail in Eden Zero, which is odd given there was quite the difference between Rave Master and Fairy Tail.

I hope that official sequel ends with Lucy marrying Natsu and collecting Zodiac Keys she doesn't have yet. Seriously, if I was Mashima, I would concentrate on that sequel first before his new manga that started earlier this week.

To be fair, I stopped reading Fairy Tail after a while (thought I did give it almost 100 chapters) so you might know much more about it than I do.

Still, what I saw of Eden's Zero very impressive. It goes through several ideas in rapid succession which most manga would dwell on for weeks. And I like how sheltered and earnest Shiki is, without being loud and brash like a Natsu or Naruto sort of hero.
