Unwanted Undead Adventurer isn't an isekai story. He's brought back in the same world. Heck, it technically isn't even reincarnation, since he's not alive in a new born body, he's undead in the same body.

True. I just added Gaul from Dog Days, but Ikuto is the only other one on the list that I have any familiarity with (haven't watched any of the other shows currently posted). |

Kemono Friends' Serval belongs near the top of that list. It feels insulting to see her below a character from a mediocre harem series. She's such a fun, loyal companion to Kaban. Her character arc in the last few episodes felt incredibly satisfying. She almost made me think about what it would be like to own a pet serval(it would be a lot as a feral cat). My favorite parts will always be the ones where spoiler[she cries at seeing another Serval in the video projection before the park gets overrun] and when she uses spoiler[the burning paper airplane to lead the large cerulean into the ocean.] And, of course the sugois and tanoshiis.
Anyone else hoping for higher standards of isekai to come back? I miss the days of Escaflowne and Fushigi Yuugi. If you are going to make an game-themed isekai, it should at least meet the standards of Konosuba and Log Horizon. Any series that has the protagonist become a Mary Sue and break any world rules to win should be taken with a greater amount of scrutiny, if not get completely ignored by anime critics. Fanfiction standards don't belong in anime. Period. |

Neferpitou's gender is pretty ambiguous. The fact that Nef has a female VA in both Japanese and English (who are both good at hiding the femininity in their voices), the fact the Chimera Ant was referred to just once with "kare" ("he") in the official character guide book, and the fact Nef's chest was drawn differently in the manga and anime makes it hard to peg a gender.
They probably added her due to the short anime promo that was used to advertise her show, and the fact Toei Animation had a hand in the collaboration. |
