Interesting. I've been picking up Yen Press' release of Anne Happy, and there's just something about it that works so much better as a manga than an anime!

The thing about Anne Happy Anime is they added original character the mech rabbit who ruined the character interactions which makes the series work.

The rabbit isn't an original character, it and its operator receive far more character development in the manga than any of the other girls.

So when does the rabbit show up I am having finding him in the manga and I am looking at volume 1

Timothy appears in the third volume during the storyline that was adapted into Episode 9, and then reappears in her human form in the fifth volume. The reason why the rabbit shows up much earlier in the anime is that the manga was in the middle of a major Timothy-centric plot arc when the show started airing, and someone on the production committee presumably didn't want to waste an opportunity for some "want to know what the deal is with the rabbit? All will be revealed in the manga's next issue!"-flavored cross promotion.
