Looks like Shinya Ohira might be the director on this.

Oh, boy, I somehow managed to miss this announcement with my excitement for the other news. This also looks beyond awesome. Really, Good Lord, Amazon, thank you, thank you thank you. I just feel like a little kid with all this new announcements

The original manga for this series is famously unfinished, with the last completed chapter ending in mid story. The 1969 anime also does not have an ending. I have no idea why Tezuka stopped with the series, or if he ever indicated how he had planned to finish it, but I kind of hope they decide to give the story an ending of some kind.
BTW, the original b&w anime is pretty good. It was recently released in the US on BluRay, and is well worth the watch.

I doubt that, as Ohira has never expressed any interest in directing anything, but it is certainly in a similar expressionist style to some of his work. The animator and storyboarder for the PV is Takuji Miyamoto, who has previously worked on Mob Psycho and Space Dandy, he's a MAPPA dude, and also was a student of Shinya Ohira. I doubt the entire thing will look like this, but it'd be dope as hell if it did.
Also, on that front, he has just noted that he will not be working on the show itself.

In the past 10 days, we have a lot of these original anime and anime adaptations announcements. I assuming it's in part for the upcoming AnimeJapan event this weekend.

This sounds pretty cool. I wonder who the staff will be for this project, but it’s looking like I’ll be checking this out anyway whenever it premieres.

Oooh, neat! Hopefully, it won't move like molasses (like the old series did), seeing Dororo with some damn action sounds quite enticing!
MAPPA better not slack on Banana Fish for this though...

They said that he [Miyamoto] was only responsible for the clip, and that he would not participate in the production.
Even so I think people should stay quiet. The series does not even have staff yet, so it does not mean it will stop having notable entertainers. This animator is only one among many, so you do not need to be afflicted.

Hopefully it will have an end this time around. It may be its final chance to do so in an animated format.
