He better have clarification from the anime production companies about such a claim. A potentially false promise or fake news claim like that could get him in hot water.

The anime only stopped after catching up to the manga, and over 110 chapters have been published ever since, so I suppose there's more than enough material for a new season already. Here's hoping there are actual plans for that, because the anime deserves a better ending than spoiler["the team gets to Koshien but Sawamura doesn't get to close out the last game". Talk about bittersweet.]
