There's a lot of good things in One Piece since the story is HUGE.

What? No one is changing the art style of anything. These are one-shots by other authors. And for better or worse One Piece is Shueisha's biggest property, and one of the most recognizable properties in Japan. It couldn't have more mass appeal than it already does.

Oda is far and away the best long-form shounen writer that Jump has ever seen. Unlike certain other unnamed super-popular authors, he doesn't do things like, oh, completely forget the existence of his own characters.

This is some weak troll bait.
One of the best Shonen Jump manga ever and the best selling ever doesn't need to change a damn thing.

Seeing One Piece done by anyone but Oda will be weird, but these sound interesting. As a Nico Robin fan, I'm glad she got one focused on her.

That's a misconception. He may forgot her later, but the reality is, he forgot that he didn't forgot her. She left for story and was never important to begin with, she had some cameo appearances throughout the manga (not in regular chapters, but in other forms) and in the end, he end up replacing her for a certain black-haired park ranger cyborg during the final chapters.

This should have been done by Kubo.

I misread the name of the Robin one shot as "Nico Robin Wants to Live Quietly" and for a second thought could have Araki choosen to do this and then I read who will write it. In mere second a new dream had been crushed.

But yet he does fall victim to things like dragging things out unnecessarily.
