I'm quite surprised that Chito and Yuri from Girls Last Tour didn't make the list, but these were all very solid picks. Especially pleased to see that Charlotte and Ange made the cut.

I'm surprised to take notice of Gabriel and Satanichia making the list.

Chito and Yuuri are obviously one of the best couples of 2017, the fact that they don't make the list surprised me.

Where are Chito and Yuuri? :'(
And, am I the only one who finds the relationship between Elias and Chise weird and disturbing? I can't focus on the magic and fantasy because of that.

Can't answer the newest question, to be honest.
CG can be like Kemono Friends or Land of the Lustrous, in which case it's a pleasant watch.
...or it can be like Hand Shakers where it falls flat on its face.
The variance is simply too wide. Especially as production budgets don't seem to figure into that question...

CG anime is good when it's done right. I loved the BLAME! Movie at the start of the year and that was partly because the CG was amazing. But then you have stuff like the CG in Arslan and I'm like nooooooo. It's all about how it affects the experience.
But in the end, nothing really comes close to a great sakuga moment. I mean look at shows like MHA or BBB, these are just way to good.

I also would have taken out Gabriel Dropout and put in Girls’ Last Tour instead. But other than that, 2017 was a very good year couples. Especially pleased to see Made in Abyss on here.
About the CG, after Land of the Lustrous, I’m now more open-minded about it in anime as long as the people behind it know how to use it well. There were some bad CG in the past, but CG as a whole can get only better with more use of it rather than not trying at all, in my opinion.

Chito and Yuuri have been mentioned multiple times and are great, but what about Serval and Kaban from Kemono Friends?
Using Kemono Friends to segway into my opinion on CG animation...it's overwhelmingly just okay for me. I watched Gregory Horror Show years ago as my first CG-animated anime and it definitely wasn't bad.
Kemono Friends didn't have great CG, but it wasn't ugly or unappealing.
I just don't want it to be ugly or distractingly poorly done (like the new Berserk). I could never stand to try to watch the Western animated CGI show ReBoot because it looks so unappealing.

Kaban and Serval are easily my #1 duo of the year.

I agree with Chito and Yuu comments. Elias and Chise still make me uncomfortable due to the fact that that he brought her. I'll probably never get over that. Just feels like Stockholm syndrome when I watch the show. Good list otherwise.
As for CG, Knights of Sidonia convinced me it could work fine. People bash it but it's literally the same as non-CG. What matters is the execution. It's just harder to make it work well. Kinos's Journey I feel did it bad. It didn't mesh well with the other art. Contrasted poorly. Especially when wheels on Hermes.

Elias and Chise definitely deserve a spot; they're awesome together. I know it's crazy to even say this at this stage, but with all the popularity they've garnered, I would love to see them in a crossover game of some kind.

Why, you took the words right out of my mouth! Nearly every positive human interaction is instantiated by that otherwise lonesome duo.

Especially in light of the excellent and demanding performances by their seiyuu. The chemistry between Minase Inori and Kubo Yurika was infectious.
Before I read the article I assumed the writer would have put Chito and Yuuri at the top of the list.
Perhaps the list maker didn't watch Girls' Last Tour?
