This is some Takashi Murakami level stuff. I didn't expect to hear about this series again. I wonder if Tokyo Pop will finish out the series?

Mind filling us in on this? I'm not familiar with Futari H, though I AM familiar with Takashi Murakami. (Or is this simply referring to nude life-size statues of anime girls?) As for Tokyopop finishing out the series, well, they acquired a reputation for doing precisely the opposite, so don't bet on it. |

Well, it IS listed as one of the major manga franchises in Japan, ongoing since 1997. It has been collected into 71 volumes as of today and has a print run of over 26 million. And the writer/author? Well, he's Katsu Aki who's behind such titles as Escaflowne, Karma Sutra, Psychic Academy, mayhaps you've heard of some of them?  ...
Tokyopop is kaput, departed, gone, belly-up. The bet is dead in the water. Edit; just noticed the quoted post is a week old, but I'll leave this anyway... |

Well, I meant what it's about and why this is being compared to Takashi Murakami. A series can sell well and be well-known but have the plot be pretty obscure to people. I mean, I doubt you could ask people on the street what The Usual Suspects is about and get a correct answer over half the time. |

Actually TokyoPop has been resurrected from the dead, sort of. For the last year or so they have been soliciting manga based on Disney titles. They are also carrying some of their old OEL titles. No general manga though. It wouldn't matter with regard to their old licensed titles as they gave all of them up. @leafy sea dragon Futari H is essentially sex education for otaku. It features a cute young recently married couple trying to figure out how to do what and with which and to whom. Presumably at 71 volumes it has gotten past basics. |

Oh, it's THAT series! Oh yes, I do know about it. I just forgot what its name was, or I never knew its name in the first place. (Just like how there are so many songs I am familiar with and can sing but never bothered to look up what they're called or who sung them.) |
