as a side note this manga also has a series fo doujinshi by the same author, that are most likely canon and go full explicit.

Fun fact, this mangaka was involved with establishing the Japanese branch of Marvel Comics. Dude loves superheroes. So it makes sense that when he decided he was done cranking down to little goth girls and was more into jacking it to jacked moms instead, the superhero genre, where everyone is ludicrously muscular, was the perfect avenue.

I would guess that's to reflect American superhero comics, whose female characters tend toward the mature-looking, then mature and busty, especially in past decades. It's only pretty recently that you have characters like Gwenpool who look undeniably younger and characters like Supergirl getting more attention. (I had never heard of this manga prior to now.)

There were plenty of curvaceous mature women in Vampire Bund, too, though. Including Mina's other form.
But what Tamaki Nozomu really likes are butts. In the Dance in the Vampire Bund Official Doujinshi (not released in English that I'm aware), Ippongi Bang spends a good part of her two pages talking about how much Tamaki likes butts. She says that at one time, there was a rumor that Tamaki Nozomu was a chubby chaser, but he replied "It can't be helped. In pursuit of the ideal butt, the body it's attached to also becomes larger!"

Can I get sauce on that Marvel info? Legit curious.
As for this comic - DITVB is one of my favorite manga, so I've got a lot of love for Tamaki. That said, this manga just didn't do it for me. Jokes didn't land, and stripped of the porn aspect, "mother gets sexually assaulted to activate her powers" doesn't hold up super well.
Kind of glad he's moved back to more gritty stuff like Soul Liquid Chambers - can't wait for that US release!

Being a big fan of superhero comics, as well as TnA, this series should be right up my alley, no?
Well... not really.
I remember checking this series out a couple years back and just being kind of frustrated with it, and I think it all comes down to the simple fact that this isn't a hentai.
Now, before you label me as some big pervert though I am, let me explain: the "humor" and "parody" (if you want to call it that) in the series is humor in the same sense that TMNT The Porno: A XXX Parody is a parody of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Typical scene set-up serves little to no purpose other than to set up the sex scenes, and the "humor" in each chapter is entirely derived from us, the reader, being "surprised" that the characters are having (non-consensual) sex. Thats... really not much of a punchline, and definitely not one that can sustain an entire series.
Unless, of course, that series was an explicit hentai. Hentai, and porn in general, has it's own sense of warped logic that is easily understood to defy the laws of rationality - ergo, every scene serving no other purpose than to assist in the initiation of sex makes perfect sense under porn-logic.
Dont Meddle with my Daughter runs on porn logic, but for some unfathomable reason, is not a porno. Every sex scene in the manga is either heavily censored, or uses trick-staging to block out the naughty bit (except for the tits, of course).
And that's t say nothing of the story's tone; despite the over abundance of, well, "surprise sex" lets call it, the characters don't seem to suffer any lasting negative consequences from it. However, this comes off as odd considering that every time it happens, the victims react realistically distressed (though never seem to fight back against it, which is odd given the fact that they are, ya know, superheroes). You could perhaps forgive this as "negative continuity" or "its a comedy, don't think about it too hard"; except that the series does have an ongoing plot, with villains portrayed as legitimate threats to the heroes, and an ongoing dramatic plot about a tragic romance between hero and villain. If anything, as the series progresses, it becomes clear that the author actually wants us to to take the story (at least somewhat) seriously as a straight-superhero manga.
And, well, a straight-superhero manga, but with lots of nonconsensual sex... that just doesn't really work. As a superhero comic, I found this series a let-down consisting of mostly half-baked superhero cliches; and as a hentai manga, I was left kind of unsatisfied by the overly-censored sex scenes. And as a parody, it fails: plain and simple.
Still, Nozomu Tamaki sure does know how to draw a nice ass. If that's worth anything, I mean.

There's no connection between the sexual assaults and her powers activating. I thought the manga made it pretty clear that she doesn't need any such stimulation and that what you're probably referring to is how those assaults briefly overcome her before she bursts out of it, which is entirely standard super-hero fare.

Yeah, just saw this too, and also had no idea about another one in the works too that Apollo-kun mentioned.
Will pick this up since I liked Vampire Bund, its art, superhero stuff, and this sounds crazy.

3 volumes. The series ended a few years ago in Japan.
The author seemed to have realized that the series worked better as a porno, because after he ended it he launched a fully pornographic sequel series that he sell's at Comiket (which I doubt will get licensed because, well, come on, it's hentai).

This sounds fun and it's funny how much it's the total opposite of where American superhero comics are today.
Also, did they get the name Sgt. Candy from that deleted scene in Terminator 3?
