Robbie Daymond as Ikoma, huh? Well, it certainly makes sense, but I'm a little disappointed because I heard somewhere that Chris Niosi might've been cast as Ikoma and I was really gunning for that. Plus, it seems like Robbie's been cast as quite a few leads lately, but his voice DOES sound a lot like the seiyuu that played him, and he's sure to do a good job, so I'll get over it.
More interesting is Janice Kawaye as Mumei. She doesn't do a lot of anime these days, but she was great as Shizuku in Hunter x Hunter. No reason why she shouldn't do good as Mumei, am I right? Last edited by Raebo101 on Fri Nov 03, 2017 8:02 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Yay! More Robbie is always a plus for me!
Also...Mumei is apparently played by a teenage robot now (Get it? Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot)? Huh. Interesting. I ought to watch the show one of these days. |

It appears that this a union dub, a rarity these days. Also glad to see Roger in this, his only anime work recently seems to be Deidara cameos in Naruto.

Hopefully they release a dub trailer soon because this is quite the fine casting. Granted Robbie's role seems rather typical, we rarely hear anime lead roles from Janice Kawaye.

I mean they arent waiting on more material for attack on titan. Season 3 airs next summer. And im pretty sure it was announced somewhere that season 2 of kabaneri was already under production. |

I agree, I think it's a cool and really interesting pick for Mumei, looking forward to hearing her. And yeah, they did announce that they are working on a second season of Kabaneri.

Why are L.A. union anime Eng. dubs somewhat rare? If it's a budget thing, the same thing applies to non-union L.A. dubs. Since Texas is a right to work state, this accounts in part why most Eng. dubs are being done at Funi.

For the record this isn't actually a union dub. It's not listed on the SAG Database and I'm pretty sure Roger Craig Smith and Janice Kawaye are ficore as both have appeared in non-union dubs (and the latter was in Hunter X Hunter recently)

I thought it was union since they credit Jamieson Price with his real name instead of Taylor Henry, but maybe he just didn't mind this time. |
