Unless the industry's power in face of the music business has changed over the last decade or so, I would imagine that Speed Grapher's opening theme woes will persist on Crunchyroll as they did on DVD.

This looks somewhat better than the other garbage male idol shows. It seems to have more polish, I don't know if that will necessarily result in a better product, but it's something. Is this the best CR can do though, I've noticed they license a lot of things in advance for screenings and such, but this isn't exactly something that will become popular in the West.

^ No. Idol anime are better than everything else nowadays, this is nowhere near as good as Marginal #4 and StarMyu (more polished animation, though, because higher budget, because it's based on a popular game), and Western fans will get over themselves and learn to love idol boys soon enough. Love Live also took a while to catch on outside of Asia.
I'm just wondering what the implications of this are, though. Crunchy getting a huge show before Japan? Especially something that's like top 5 in Japan but widely maligned/misunderstood/unwanted by Western fans.... I wonder what Japanese fans must think of this...

i7 has a small but growing fanbase in the US so I hope it gets even bigger next year. I'm glad crunchy got it!

Oh wow. I didn't expect to see this until next year!
If CR's already showing the first two episodes than Funi/Sony must have it. Or Viz

There was a pre-air events for these in Japan the same day as Crunchyroll released the 2 episodes.

I know for one thing CR has associations with Bandai, which is the original creator of the game.
