I would also add that in episode 3, this cute moe show handled sexual harassment way better than I expected. And because of Natsume's actions in protecting Ren and pretty much the entirety of the episode, I'd say they're a legitimate couple.

The yuri is strong with this one. A pleasing show so far to relax to on Wednesdays.

I came here to post the same thing, actually. I was just enjoying the show for being light and fluffy in the first two episodes, but the way ep 3 handled that really impressed me. It's very rare for anime in general to deal with that kind of thing so tactfully.

I felt like it would've been better if they made the latter half the focus of the entire episode instead of focusing on pregnancy shenanigans in the first half, but damn that still hit me where it hurts.

Aww, but the pregnancy shenanigans further establishes how utterly gay the respective fox girls are! I really hope their feelings get reciprocated near the end of the series. Not much to add about the second half since it's pretty much the same as everyone else; it's a really good emotional segment.

Aww, I agree wholeheartedly that Episode 4 was definitely the best episode of the series so far. Man, I did not expect it to be this sad and have me moved as much as it did. Based on the amount of activity on this thread so far, I’m a little surprised at the small amount of people following this anime. I understand that this it’s not going to be a show for everyone, but this is less than what I expected. Well, regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing more from it.

Yeah, episode 4 had me crying like a litle bitch. I could have done without the egg pregnancy stuff, though.

Yeah, I hope word of mouth is strong for it, because the show really *is* adorable.

Quote: | The Urinosuke segment uses Ren and Natsume's visions to reveal the depths of the affection they're just now beginning to show their respective partners... |
I think that was meant to say "Ren and Satsuki's visions"?
This was actually one of the shows I dropped after the first week, not because I didn't like it, but because I just had way too much to watch as is. However, I had some time left over during the third week, so I decided to catch up, and man am I glad I did! As far as I'm concerned the yuri is beyond mere subtext at this point (at least between Ren and Natsume), and the story of Shino's mother was very poignant. All the references to Japanese mythology and folklore are also much appreciated. And I got a great laugh out of the egg shenanigans, as well as the sight of a tiny Satsuki comforted by a big Yuzu.
I can understand being put off by the high frequency of bathing fanservice scenes (tame though it may be) and the overall cutesiness, but I do wish more people would give this show a chance. Oh well, gonna look forward to more of it, I guess!

I just want to express how much i love this anime. The cuteness of the characters and the perfect balance between comedy and emotions. My favorite show of the season, so far.

Before it aired, a few bristled at the show being referred to as heartwarming in the description, but heartwarming has been a very spot on description of the series and this past episode has only reinforced that. While it has a little more fanservice than other genre entries, it has been a pretty good iyashikei type show so far and the show I most look forward to on Wednesdays (not that it has much competition).

If Blend-S is this season Working!, Konohana Kitan is this season New Game!
I do wonder if later they will show who (or what) is working at the kitchen, which is (from what I saw in Hanasaku Iroha) one of the most labor intensive parts of a big inn.
The egg shenigans were a welcome surprise since it is clear that this is a supernatural place, the fox ears are not just for show. Also, am I the only one that thinks Kiri looks exactly like Saber (FS/N) but with fox ears?

This show keeps on getting better and better. I was underwhelmed by the first episode but look at how much it has improved.

That's a really apt comparison.
It is my hope that, just like New Game!, Konohana Kitan gets an significantly-improved second season. That would be awesome.

She really does. The physical resemblance is so close that every time Kiri opens her mouth I get confused as to why Saber is speaking so strangely.

I don't know, I have found this weird disconnect with this series, along with Urahara, which it comes out same day, I have found this weird dream like feel that something has just felt off. Fourth episode though was good, and weirdly about dreams. As soon as they showed a connection with dreams and the egg, the bad dream disappearing, my initial reaction was of a baku.
I somehow managed to not cry with the second story.
