Wonder if J-Novel or some other publisher will pick this up someday.
In other news, Lord Marksman and Vanadis novels will end with volume 18 this year.

I actually liked the anime a lot, but I've never read the novels.

Now that I had not heard, and I'm a huge fan of the Vanadis novels. I'm not really sad about it ending though. 18 is a pretty good run, and I'd prefer it not just get run into the ground.

I enjoyed the anime and was disappointed that it ended on a cliffhanger.
I'm curious to see how the story had developed past the anime and what's in store for Raishin and Yaya in the climax...

The cliffhanger of the anime was mean.
I didn't entirely enjoy the series, but I am curious with how it all develops. I guess it's good news that this is ending.

Both Machine Doll and Vanadis are 2 novel series I'd like to be able to read for myself, as I'm a fan of their anime adaptions.
I'll keep my fingers crossed the LNs get picked up, but won't hold my breath.

Spoilers, if you want to know what happens:
-Loki's automaton, Cherubim, is dead
-Frey is dead
-Rutherford (the academy's headmaster) is dead
-Shin is dead
-Shouko (Yaya's and her sisters' creator) is a doll herself
-Raishin sold his soul to a witch
-As of Volume 15's ending, Yaya only has about a day left to live
Either Yaya or Raishin are going to die at the end of the story. There is no hope for both of them making it out alive. It's gonna be sad.
As always, ANN is super late though. The novel ending was announced over a year ago.

The anime was like the number 1 most surprisingly good anime for me. The plot seemed cliched, but it was told in way that made it actually pretty entertaining. I read the fan translated novels up to volume 4 before they went on an indefinite hiatus... maybe in a few years my Japanese will be good enough to pick up the Japanese novels.

No offense, but I'm not quite going to believe spoilers given by a first-time poster, without confirmation from someone else. Especially when I don't want to believe any of what you describe...

If the discussion on a certain site that can't be named here(which is a bit ridiculous as they haven't carried the offending kind of material for years, by the way) is true, then those facts seem to be true as far as I could conclude from reading the thread in question.
We'll see if volume 16 will provide some answers...

Yes, I was wrong. I didn't want to believe the story would go in such a direction. You have my apologies.
