Have anyone seen this anime? Gunparade March.
I've read a bit about it and it sounds good imo. + I love mecha. ;>

Plot summary (From ANN):
In 1945, World War II abruptly ended when an alien race appeared on Earth and began to slaughter the human population. The year is 1999 - 54 years later, mankind is still fighting to survive against the alien forces. Earth forces now use advanced mecha called Humanoid Walking Tanks (HWTs) to combat the invaders, but throughout the ordeal, far too many pilots have been killed in action. As a result, high school students are now recruited to become HWT pilots. Gunparade March follows the lives of the 5121st Platoon, who have just added a mysterious girl named Mai Shibamura to their ranks.

All you who have seen this anime, let me know if its worth buying.

There was a Gunparade March PS1 game that came out before the anime was created. From what I've read about it, the concept is basically Front Mission with FF8's High School setting.

Stay away from Gunparade March. The show has cool Mecha stuff but focus's a lot on the love story in later eps and you never find out what is happening with the invaders or whatever they are. There is absolutely no resolution to this whatsoever. Not sure if the game is like this but if your interested your best bet is to check the game out. It's only 12 eps the show should have showed humanity surviving or dying but neither happen the love story just ends and that's about it. Get the fansubs if you want to see it the show is not worth buying.

Well the game story won the award for best scifi series of the year 1-2 years in a row (and that award wasn't limited to games or manga).

The series isn't so got though.

There are some very compelling episodes that are done exeptionally well, but the majority of it is like a bad high school drama.

There's almsot no mech action either, so don't go in expecting that. it's 99% about character development.

It sounds somewhat like a bare-bones Full Metal Panic, then.
