Awwwww man.... This would've been so cool. Makes you think about that potential Metroid movie.

I was completely unaware that there was an English version of the Metroid manga out years earlier...It's a shame that it never caught on due to obscurity.

I'm now convinced that I like all the wrong things. Either they get cancelled too soon--or in this case--never get made at all. And if this is the same Steven Butler that used to work for Marvel back in the day, that makes it even worse since he was one of my favorite comic book artists back then...

TOKYOPOP announced that Metroid manga for the US back in the early 2000's but as far as I know, it never actually came out due to some kind of rights' issues...

That is some impressive artwork!
I'm really surprised, of all of Nintendo's works, that they really never took off with a Metroid anime series. Surely it would've been a hit, given the potential of the story. I would dare say a Live Action film, but Hollywood just doesn't care to understand a series.

Speaking of this long-running comic company, I wouldn't be surprised if the eternal triangle was a bit of inspiration to the grandparent of harem manga, "Urusei Yatsura". Heck, UY's Mendo looks like Reggie Mantle.
