Good thing they clarified that about the scheduling of releases. It looks like they are more on mark than before, so as long as I continue to see thinpacks and similar full sets come out of them, they get my dollars.

Well it does kinda make sense since with all the new FUNimation series in production spending money, but with nothing in return yet. But they did say in three different ways that they were expecting this so I don't think it is too much to be concerned over.

They should buy 4kids and diversify. Save us the trouble of bashing Kahn when he does the next insipid act against humanity.

I don't know which stock market you are referring to. The Dow closed down .25% and the Nasdaq closed down 1.92% today.

I think they were referring to Navarre's stock.
Since they said they were expecting this, and knew why it was down makes sense. They also made a lot of acquisitions lately, and some of those are probably in production right now. I think the same quarter last year also saw the release of the last 3 FMA volumes and the FMA movie. They certainly didn't have something like that this year.

don't worry, they have One Piece now! but either way, poor FUNimation , this is not something that should ever happen to the great FUNimation! things like this should only happen to 4kids.

In addition to that, some of their titles that they announced back in their Kick Off week at the beginning of the year are just now getting solid (more or less) dates. So they've been putting money into those titles and haven't gotten squat for them yet.

Going from an expected net income of $2.3m to an actual loss of $0.4m can do that. Especially to a company that was only worth $130m. Not to mention they cut the outlook for year's revenue by 6-7% and net income by 40%.
Class action lawsuit on the way!

Maybe we're talking about Navarre's stock? NAVR
You might get a 40% drop in the market index if we start a nuclear war or something.

I never thought that I would see a comment on a company's stock price on an ANN bulletin board!

Well they're making money at least (yearly). That counts for something.

True, as long as the money is coming in that's important. Wouldn't want to see them keep going downward is all I can really say about the whole issue. They have projects and series coming out to help them with what they need to do keep they're financial state stable, so it shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Actually, 4Kids is just a division of FUNimation to begin with. That's why the licensing for One Piece transitioned so smoothly between hands. What they need to do is CLOSE 4KIDS and produce all of that anime the way it was originally created. Maybe then I'd be making some new purchases on anime that I thought I'd like but won't watch because of TV edits. In this day and age, we should no longer have these kind of edits. ~points to DIC's Sailor Moon and vomits~
