A miracle has happened. Only 6 months after I decided to watch it because I didn't think the rest were going to release any time soon/at all.

It's a shame Manglobe went under, because I enjoyed this and would have watched a second season.

It was never going to get a second season because 1) it sold like garbage and 2) the mangaka was diagnosed with a serious health condition and the manga has been in hiatus since shortly after the anime aired, and the un-adapted material isn't enough

That's interesting: It's already completely released in Germany (and other countries?) – very rare to see a home video release outside of Japan when there hasn't been one in Japan already.

Shame this show will never get a second session. It played with interesting themes.

And while it isn't as important, it also didn't get received very well. Most of the reviews I saw gave it very low scores.

This excites me. The first two volumes have been so lonely on my shelf!! Hopefully they decide to keep the collectors box that is scheduled for BD3.

Good for them. Show's still trash though. It started out great but degenerated into stupid shounen power-levels bullshit. Story didn't make any sense either, and the discrimination aspect was retarded. You have these people who are enhanced, and they are feared and loathed by regular people. You can easily tell who they are because they are marked. They also have bad side effects from their powers that are fuled by a drug they have in their system. But then there's this OTHER group of super powered people who are much stronger, undetectable, no side-effects, no need for drugs, that aren't even marked or feared by the people even though they aer known to them. That's dumb.

I still have a feeling that the last episode just never got made because the studio went under. The show was slated for 13 episodes, but they had to resort to a recap episode, so episode 13 just never got made and episode 12 ended up being the last one.
If you watch the last episode, it feels completely like a penultimate episode. It even ends in a cliffhanger that would have been solved in the next episode. What a sad fate.

The production was certainly plagued with issues. The odd cliffhanger episode was a REALLY bad place to stop and ruined many people's enjoyment of the show.
I am a huge fan of the manga, so just seeing it animated in any form was exciting for me. The voice acting was top notch (TsudaKen as Nico especially) and the fights were well choreographed. Shame Manglobe couldn't keep it together long enough to do the story justice. My hope is that Kohske can get well enough to finish someday, so at least one portion will have some closure.

unfortunately , like with black lagoon , this series will go as far as the manga will take it. and from the looks on the pacing of the manga, not so long. dont be surprised if this series goes down the same tragic fate as black lagoon.

Yeah. I could definitely see this being what happened.
Would have probably helped post-show word of mouth too.
