Not surprised many got left off the list. After all the list is only 6. There has actually been a rise in music related anime in the past several years I think. Granted there are a lot that are idol shows but there are others like Sound Euphonium, Kids on the Slope, & Your Lie in April. Then you have other older shows, of varying age, like Beck, NaNa, K-On, Detroit Metal City, La Corda D'Oro, or Gravitation to name just a handful. I think personally my favorites would remain Beck and Kids on the Slope.

Raxephon? I didn't know that music was part of that show. But what about Star Driver? I mean music isn't the main point but hymns have to do the robots and the dimension battles. Let's not forget 'Key the Metal Idol'. But there are quite a bit.

Well since someone mentioned Beck, lol.

Yeah, other honorable mentions users not mentioned yet...

-Mermaid Melody (obviously, since its all about the power of music.)
-Full Moon (ditto, but as a solo performer.)
-Interstella 5555 (real obvious, and all that Daft Punk music.)
-Detroit Metal City (Does this count too???)

I thought this article focused shows where music played some other role in the story, for instance, as a mode of combat. That rules out shows like Nodame or Eupho which are about music itself. Nonon's use of music as a weapon in Kill la Kill seems more in tune with the article's premise.

I hope I hit the right note with this comment. (No bad puns intended. Only good puns.) I haven't seen a lot of these anime. I might one of these days. Who knows? I might someday.
