for anyone who get's the channel (IFC), you may be interested to know that tonight at midnight EST (and again at 4am), they will be airing Kite, it is an hour long so I can assume it's uncut, though I don't know if it will by dubbed or subbed.

This is the first anime I've seen on said channel besides Mononoke, maybe a prelude of things to come Wink

I think that appeared on IFC only in Canada. I haven't seen any anime yet on the IFC channel in the USA. I know the Mononoke telecast was only on IFC Canada. It ticked me off that the USA's IFC didn't have it. (^_*)

IFC has run Wind Named Amnesia, Grave of the Fireflies, Harmageddon and... maybe a few other titles over the years.

Although IFC is primarily about independent films, it also carries a large number of international titles... every 6 months or so, they run an anime movie.

They're also sneaky bastards. They'll slip in Akira Kurosawa or Zatoichi films and I only happen upon them an hour and a half in... Anime cry

I had just come in from work one night and had about ten minutes to get settled in for Yojimbo. Great flick. They seem to play it a couple times a month (lately, anyway). Anyone interested in a good Samurai story, should check it out.

So what if the Canadian IFC shows more anime than the American IFC? Canadians aren't allowed to watch Cartoon Network or Encore Action, period, or anime on the Canadian version of TechTV because of the fricking CRTC, and the only non-or-barely-edited non-little-kiddy anime series currently showing on Canadian TV is Inu Yasha, so at least we have a tiny little something Americans don't have on IFC. And it's infrequent...

Easily a favourite of mine. It's the film that first got me into Kurosawa. Very Happy
