That's terrible news, and the second demise of a young performer in one day. Truly a tragedy, may he rest in peace.

What's going to happen with Haikyu? Are all the voices pre-recorded or will they have to emergency cast a different seiyuu for Ukai now? He has a few good moments in this arc and it's gonna be sad to hear his voice change

This is terrible news. His character in Haikyu is the most charismatic. RIP. Sad

I think they have it pre-recorded up until a point (depends on how much have been animated so far). So perhaps we'll hear him for a few more episodes and then half-way through his voice will change....

I'm sure there has to be SOME voice actor in Japan that has a similar voice. I mean it's going to take a while to adjust, but I got through D.Gray Man Hallow just fine, so...

This is SO sad!

This is just tragic. Far too young to die, but life can be cruel.

May he rest in piece and his soul return to wherever it came from.

That's a good question. Since the third season will apparently be 10-episode long (it wasn't stated directly, but the home-media section on the official website shows 5 volumes, with 10 episodes total), there's the possibility that most of his lines are already recorded.

Took the words right outta my mouth. This hurts. God, the poor man.

I really got attached to Ukai-sensei; I'll always love his character but I'll miss Tanaka's fantastic performance. Crying or Very sad May you rest now, good sir, and know that your work was so greatly loved by those who have never met you. Thank you for the gifts you left us.

This is awful. Just awful. He did Ukai so well. I can't think of anyone else voicing him. Oh gosh...

WTF! 2nd article in a row now. I read the title and immediately the first thing that appeared in my head was Shinichiro from Code Geass(one of my favorite characters in the series). Today just got worse. I hope Tanaka's friends and family can get through this. Thank you for having an impact on our child/adulthood. RIP

Rest in Peace. Always a name I saw in the many credits even if I could never remember his characters.

It sounds like it was pretty sudden, so I hope he had as much fun voicing Ukai and Rikimaru as I did listening to him.
