Well, that's everything I needed to know. Pass. After that third OVA, Kajishima should have been run out of the business, never to work again. Kajishima became to Tenchi Muyo what Lucas became to Star Wars. |

I would be down with this if I didn't have to watch Aeka's incesty advancements toward her nephew. That may be fine and dandy on Jurai, but not Earth. All the more reason why Ryoko is still the better choice. And I was gonna ask where the hell was Kiyone until I remembered she wasn't in the OVA.

Did they age up Tenchi as well? I know the character designs are in a more modernized style compared to the 90's look, but he still looks older now as opposed to his teenage look in just about every other anime version.

I never watched the 3rd OVA(but had watched all other incarnations of Tenchi by then, including GXP[which I actually liked]), but I know the original 2 OVAs were the best of all of them to me, by a mile. I heard the 3rd OVA received a lukewarm reception, but I'm curious as to what changes the 3rd OVA have from the original 2 that made it so bad(without heavy spoilers please) =0(...

Tenchi looks older, but Sasami and Ryo-Ohki are still in their child forms, so apparently not a lot of time has passed after all? I thought the presumptive story was that they were all much older and Tenchi was consummating and having children with his entire harem, not that I have an interest in seeing that.
I really, really [expletive] hated OVA 3 which was apparently only made to shoehorn the horrible, juvenile, insulting GXP characters into Tenchi's world. I hate Noike and all the other retconned nonsense. I wish they'd make a continuation of Tenchi Universe, which was actually fun, unlike the BS that the OVA sped into. |

If it's more like OAVs 1 and 2 and less like 3, I'll watch it. Edit: Not a fan of the newer character designs. Would the '90s look not adapt well to digital animation? |
