A new Monster Musume book is released and it's not number 1? What is going on?

It's the fan anthology and not the main story, which isn't going to get the same support simply for that.

That said, really happy that Haiku is still up there! Hoping to see Yona of the Dawn once it's officially released Wink (I have my copy already for some reason, even though the posted street date is next week.)

Wow, Noragami ranked higher than I expected given some of the other releases on there.

The series had managed to be on the list for at least a week or two whenever a new volume came out despite the monthly releases so congrats. I'm wondering how it'll do now that it needs to wait for new Japanese volumes to start coming out.

But even the first volume of the anthology has been #1 at the first week of release

Yona's out next week?? Yessss - Viz Media's website confirms. I just put a purchase request at my local library because it would be a good fit. Now, if only Silver Spoon would get licensed, we'd be set.

So glad to see Noragami on the list. Next volume isn't out until October, and the authors seem determined to break my heart over the fate of a new character that I'm already really attached to. Must. Find. Out. What. Happens. Next.

Well, OPM still going strong, seems the dub is giving them more sales, lol.

But yeah, I'll be surprised if Yona does #1 in its first week, lol. But more than likely, it'll just make the list at whatever position it'll be most attuned, and speaking of Yona, I actually got my copy over AX when they sold them early from the Viz booth, lol. (Though most likely I probably won't actually finish reading the series or w/e.)

#1 doesn't mean same sales numbers, it just means that it did better than other series that week.

It's not the original story or original artist, so some people (like me) are just not even going to look at it. Combined with the fact that all series lose readers over time and it's not surprising that volume 2 of the spinoff is already visibly losing steam.
