Yeah this thread is all About your favorite anime studio or company and why it is your favourite.
My all time favourite studio is Gonzo, because they produce exellent A+ grade anime and also they create alot of CG 3d scenes in anime such as Last Exile, Last Exile was really good and the arial battleship battles were beauiful to watch and the eng dub was really good. Trinity blood made good use of CG aswell. I also like Gonzo the most because their animation is consistintley fluent and their characters move with alot grace in every situation whether it is a fighting scene or comedic. Gonzo did an excellent job with Black cat. I personally enjoyed Black Cat. Was a little dissapointed with the ending an how it imitaded Neon Genesis Evangelion. But overall a really enjoyable anime sereis to watch. Gonzo Will probably be my all time favourite as the reasons above. So whos your favourite anime studio or company? |

Pffft. Ever heard of Speed Grapher? Have you compared the animation quality of Haydée's evening gown in episode 6 and 7 of Gankutsuou? |

I have three favorites. The first would be Madhouse - their works always look unique and different. Gonzo would be the second, because I like a lot of their series. Finally, KyoAni. Same reason as Gonzo, except I like Gonzo series more.

I'm going to have to disagree with this. When Gonzo anime look good they look REALLY good, but they're far from consistent on some of their shows. I remember the second episode of Vandread. They have still made 2 of my favorite anime titles, Gankutsuou and Last Exile. My favorite studio is BONES. Their stories are very character driven and heart-felt (most of the time). They are also one of the best studios when it comes to animation. I thought the 50 episode Eureka Seven looked consistently great all the way through. My favorites from them are FullMetal Alchemist and Rahxephon (surprisingly both have the worst animation of all of BONE's anime, but they're still the best). |

I have a top 3 which most of you have already mentioned:
1. Kyoto Animation - They always produce the most beautiful anime with not a single anime that I dislike so far and my fave Comedies, Mecha and Romance anime series are all KyoAni works. 2. Madhouse - They are pretty random as they produce some of the best and worst but when they make a good anime it easily becomes a hit. The only problem I have with them is they way the tend to finish their series. 3. BONES - I have to go with BONES because of their style of work and I don't really have a specific reason for liking them. |

Hmm, I can't disagree with Kyoto Animation, BONES, or even Gonzo, but another studio whose work I've really enjoyed is J.C.Staff. They may not produce the absolute best animation, but their work always seems to be consistently good. Their titles include Ai Yori Aoshi, Azumanga Daioh, Ghost Hunt, Nodame Cantabile, R.O.D TV, Shakugan no Shana, and Someday's Dreamers, to name a few.

I'd have to say Sunrise -not for their animation (because it can be inconsistent) or for their art (it varies), but because they have a huge catalog of stories I love.
They've got the gundam franchise, which I adore. They also animate a lot of other mecha and science fiction, which excites my inner fangirl. Plus, I think their animation just has a certian sort of feel to it that appeals to me. |

I love GAINAX. They've had their ups and downs over the years, but they've animated many of my favorite works, from Wings of Honneamise to Neon Genesis Evangelion to Diebuster. Even if the animation quality isn't always consistant with a GAINAX title, the attention to detail more than makes up for it. There's a certain look to GAINAX character art that I like, too.
Why has no one mentioned Studio Ghibli? They're one of Japan's top animation studios by any account. Once again, amazing attention to detail, spectacularly fluid animation, and the work of one of the top anime directors of all time. Madhouse and Production IG are honorable mentions, because of Satoshi Kon's and Mamoru Oshii's works respectively. |

Agreed. I also love Gainax, and after watching TTGL, my admiration for them has skyrockted. |

Forgot about JC Staff. I loved R.O.D. TV, Shana and Honey and Clover, but I haven't seen any JC staff works lately that I forgot about it. |

KyoAni because they made Air, kanon, and is now coming with Clannad. Opinion regarding the story aside, the background and art has always been beautiful. This, so far, is most prominent in Air. That is some good eye candy.
Sunrise may be making a comeback. I've been impressed with Geass, and if they can crank out a good second season, along with resurrecting Gundam, then huzza! |

I think I'd have to choose Studio Ghibli and BONES as my favorite studios.
Ghibli's animation is fantastic, and I'm a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki's movies (especially Princess Mononoke). BONES animation is great, and they have made some of my favorite anime series. (RahXephon, Fullmetal Alchemist, Wolf's Rain) I especially liked the the animation in Wolf's Rain. I have yet to see a BONES series that I didn't like. Well, I guess I don't like Angelic Layer as much as some people, but I still like it. |

Well, my original favorite was GONZO for Last Exile, but then I realized that a lot of their animation was a little... not great. At times, it can be good, but they haven't impressed me much lately.
TMoHS introduced me to Kyoto Animation, which I had already heard of from Fumoffu and AIR (but I hadn't seen AIR at that point). KyoAni's one of my top favorites. I don't have a set list, as it often changes. I agree with larinon on J.C. Staff and a lot of you on BONES, but mostly J.C. Staff. R.O.D and AzuDai are fantastic, and they have many other successful titles. BONES has some really great pieces like Wolf's Rain, E7, and FMA. GAiNAX and MADHOUSE are really good, too. It's so hard to choose! >< EDIT: Ahh! I just read a few posts and forgot about Production I.G! They're in my top two all the time! Especially thanks to GitS, B+, Chevalier, and Otogi Zoshi. Let's see....
I love Production I.G. for Stand Alone Complex alone; that has to be one of the most well put together anime I've ever seen. I know they were behind a couple other series I liked, but I can't exactly remember what x) I've also seen some excellent Madhouse shows, like NANA and Death Note; I wasn't too fond of the concept of Death Note, but the animation was superb. Madhouse is doing Dennou Coil as well, aren't they? Then there's KyoAni; on the outside the animation seems pretty typical, but then you start to notice all the little details in the character designs, backgrounds, and foreground objects. Air is one of the most beautiful anime I've watched. |
