I'm kind of astounded that Godzilla has never officially shown up in anime before. Then again, maybe they saw Godzooky and decided to stay far away. I think the late-90s US animated series was supposed to be fairly good though.

I remember hearing before that the show was well received when it aired in Japan. They just hated the Hollywood movie it was based on like the rest of us. |

Now the folks of Crayon Shin-chan get to witness Godzilla's beastly powers up close and personal.

It's a wonder he never had his own anime all this time. Then again, Gamera was going to have one a few years back, but it got scrapped entirely.
It's extremely good and makes up for the movie entirely. I'll say it again: it's aged a lot better than most 90s cartoons have. |

I'd say the Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer "cameo" (on the movie theatre screen) sort of counts, since that movie was a co-production between Kitty and Toho. Also, speaking of American-animated Godzillas, I'm old enough to just barely remember having watched the Hanna-Barbera version when it was either new or in fairly recent re-runs. |

This is an awesomely odd choice for both Godzilla and Shin-chan.

But it does show on One Punch Man if Godzilla parody is counted. The Ancient King vs Tatsumaki. |
